My Austrian neighbor taught me how to make cough syrup so i thought i'd give it a try. Usually this is the time of year that you be just starting but this year with it being so warm so early we almost missed the season.
Here we are collecting the spruce buds. Aurora was a big helper and didn't want to stop after we had enough
putting them in the bag
Now we put them in jars with LOTS of sugar and set them out to let the sun do the rest.
delicious and apparently miraculous. The ancient European way of dealing with coughs.
