Good News

Here is the latest news from Christy:

"Well...GREAT news....We are home!!! The head pediatrician (and about 5 other drs) came to see Gabe this morning and decided he could go home! They said that there was nothing else they could give him and he is doing enough better that we can just watch him at home. He didn't have a fever all night so I think that helped. The only thing that really makes him different from "Our Gabe" is that he is Extremely irritable when he's awake and hardly anything works to console him but he's getting better (compared to yesterday). We have an appt with Gabe's pediatrician tomorrow to make sure he does ok his first night back home. Its so great to have him here at our own place. DH is actually taking a nap with him right now. We made sure to take every precaution before bringing him into the house though since we still don't know what made him so sick (and probably never will). DH and MIL came home yesterday and disinfected the whole house and washed all Gabe's and our stuff. Then when we got home we gave him a bath to get the hospital "yuck" off him. We also have Tylenol and Motrin that we can give him if he gets too cranky or runs a little bit of a fever. I'm a little nervous having him home, but I know he will be ok. It just feels really good to have our baby almost back to normal. It is the scariest feeling in the world not knowing if someone you love so much will even make it and not being able to really do anything other than leave it to the drs. Looking back it still makes me cry to think about how sick he was and that we honestly didn't know if he was going to make it. Oh well, best not to think about that too much...now we just have some leverage to hold over his head when he's a bratty teenager! LOL!"
